THE INFLUENCE OF MUSIC ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE PART 1

Hello everyone 😊

In this first part, I am going to begin to share two of my passions, English and Music. The advantages of playing an instrument and singing for learning foreign languages, such as English.

Music over time has played an important role in society more than anything else in learning and culture. Playing musical instruments and even singing has mainly helped children develop skills such as language, memory, and attention. On the other hand, science assures that when playing a musical instrument, the activity between both brain hemispheres is enhanced, increasing the processing speed that contributes to the elaboration of information and also to the learning of foreign languages.

For example, when playing the piano, both hands and feet are used simultaneously, which requires a lot of concentration, it is important to practice constantly from a very young age. It has been shown that music education improves in some way the process of spoken language. Scientific research shows that music education helps the brain to improve its ability to distinguish rapidly varying sounds as part of auditory processing.

The same happens when learning a foreign language, which is why learning a new language at an early age is much easier because the brain is in a developmental process. With the help of music, it is much easier to process sounds and know how to differentiate them, with the learning of a foreign language there is greater capacity and speed at the time of learning.

See you in the next post 👋
